NoDa Brewing Company (Charlotte, NC)
2921 N Tryon St, Charlotte, North Carolina 28206
Every year, Lisa Johnson of the Carolina BrewMasters (local homebrew club) organizes Ladies Brew Day in May/June with the local homebrewers & Charlotte Beer Babes. This event is for ladies only, and is one of the few enforced on that.
This is a day where experienced lady homebrewers bring their equipment to NoDa Brewing Company, and mentor groups of Beer Babes who are interested in learning to homebrew beer!
The groups are made up of 2-4 ladies who join up to make the same beer together (IPA, Saison, Brown, etc). You don't need to know each other beforehand or how to brew! That is what this Homebrewing 101 class is for!
If you'd be interested in learning to brew, or participating to continue lear...ning how to brew, there are 2 days that you need to book! Wednesday May 16 for this Homebrewing 101 class, and Sun June 10 for the actual brew day!
Homebrewing 101 will be a tutorial with Lisa on the equipment, ingredients & process of homebrewing! It will be hosted by at NoDa Brewing (NorthEnd). This class is required for anyone who wants to do this Brew Day (as this is where our brewing groups will be decided). However if you just want to learn about homebrewing and don't know if you want to brew, you're welcome to join us as well for this event!
Come prepared to learn & plot beer on Wednesday! It'll be a fun class and a great chance to pair up with new friends to plot out a beer of your own creation!
Note: We will not do all-grain, only extract brewing, no exceptions.
For ladies brew day, if you can't make that, you're welcome to still come out to learn on Wedneaday! Just make sure you tell us you're not going to be brewing!
Forewarning for Ladies Brew Day. It is all or nothing. Brewing will be 12pm sharp until at least 5pm, and each group is responsible for cleaning all of their mentors' equipment afterwards, as well as buying their mentors' beer during the brew day session at NoDa Brewing. Beer kits plus the mentors' beer will be the cost of this 2 part event (neither due on this 101 night), and usually runs $25-50 per person for the groups in total (higher cost is if you do really fancy ingredients).
If you want to come out Wednesday to learn, and just swing by for a bit on Brew Day, that is fine, too, but know you'll not be assigned a group nor be allowed to actually help brew on brew day!

Please read all event description to make sure you don't miss anything for this one! It's a two part event!
