Join us at the Davidson Public Library for a discussion of News of the World, the 2018 ReadDavidson community book selection. Retired Charlotte Observer reporter, Mark Washburn, will lead the discussion with an introduction on the evolution of American print news and a guided discussion of the book.

We will meet in the Community Room at the Davidson Public Library. Thanks to our sponsor Davidson Learns, refreshments will be provided. This event is open to the public and free of charge!

MARK WASHBURN is a semi-retired Charlotte Observer reporter and columnist who has spent his career in a variety of editing and writing roles. He served as media writer for the Observer for a decade, has been a war correspondent in Iraq, state editor of The Miami Herald and writes a monthly column for the Observer's editorial page. He is an instructor for Davidson Learns, teaching a popular course titled The Rise and Fall of the American Newspaper Industry.
