Come out and have some fun for a great cause! The event is family and wheelchair friendly. We will be hosting a follow up awards ceremony with prizes for things such as Most Team Spirit, Most Creative T-shirt, Best Banner, Best Dressed Pet and more!
Funds raised from the Walk to Defeat ALS enable us to:
— Support nearly 800 people living with ALS and their families free of charge
— Fund cutting-edge ALS research around the world. The ALS Association is currently funding more than 120 research projects in eight countries.
— Support all multidisciplinary ALS clinics and centers in North Carolina
— Operate 14 monthly support groups in North Carolina
— Provide financial grants to people living with ALS for in-home care, medical expenses, home accessibility and more
— Provide loaner walkers and wheelchairs free of charge
— Educate health care facilities, hospices and caregivers throughout NC
