April 4, 2018 marks the 50th anniversary of the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. In his 1963 book Strength to Love, Dr. King writes “we are not makers of history; we are made by history.” This quote reminds us that the past always shapes the present as we shape our future. and is the theme for our Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Legacy Celebration—“We Are Made by History”: Continuing Dr. King’s Legacy.

Join us as we reflect on the impact of Dr. King’s legacy. The day includes performances by the McCrorey YMCA Senior African Drummers, Davidic Praise Dancers, “Family Connections with Angie Cee,” children’s story time, arts and crafts, and much more. All day free admission.
