Bob’s Your Elf is a family-friendly, comedic play about an elf named Bob who gets banished from the North Pole to learn a lesson about cooperation. Because of his bad attitude, Santa sends him to a small town to help out with their Christmas pageant, but Bob is in for a surprise when he is faced with a group of bumbling actors who are doing their best but cannot seem to quite get it correct.
Several months ago, Gaston County resident Eleanor Wixson approached the Friends of the Gaston County Public Library (FGCPL) with an interesting proposal. She wanted to produce a readers theater, and she wanted to do it so anyone in the community could experience it for free. She gathered some of the best actors in the area with Michael Hodnett, Marcus Hyde, Robert Jenkins, Patrick Daley and Leanna Daley
NOTE: In a «Readers Theater» the actors read from a script and character parts are divided among the readers. No memorization, costumes, stage blocking, or special lighting is used. Come experience “readers theater” and get into the holiday spirit with family, friends, and laughter. A light reception of holiday treats and beverages will be served during intermission.
While this play is family-friendly, it's likely children will not appreciate or understand some of the humor. Therefore, we suggest you enjoy this program with adolescent-age or older family and friends.
