Ashtanga Yoga: A traditional practice to create a strong body

Ashtanga is an ancient system of yoga that unites breath, focus points, and postures to create a concentrated meditative self practice. The practice is done with a set series of postures learned gradually over a period of time, in vinyasa style, creating internal heat to purify the body, improving circulation, for strong body and a calm mind. This class will sometimes deviate from the tradional sequence of the practice so come with an open mind and heart.
** Appropriate for someone new to the practice or those who are looking to refine or recommit to their practice.
Lisa has been practicing yoga since the late 80’s, studying with the founders of Jivamukti yoga in NYC,, as well as Iyengar teachers, therapeutics practices, Yin practitioners, and Ashtanga teachers in India, such as founder Pattabi Jois. Being a long time yoga practitioner she has come to love and value meditation as one of the most important aspects of practice, because when meditation and breath merge with yoga postures and life….this is when true awakening begins! The simplicity to inhale and exhale and be present for all that is now and for all that is coming.!
